Title: First Larimer Scholarship Awarded to Jennie Guzman

Extended Text: Jennie Sara Guzman, a UC Berkeley physics major, is the first recipient of a scholarship established in memory of Ruth-Mary Larimer, whose nuclear-science career spanned half a century. The award is intended to encourage outstanding undergraduates in the UC Physics Department, with attention to women who plan careers in the field of nuclear science. Guzman will receive a certificate and a check for $500 in a ceremony to be held at the 88-Inch Cyclotron at 3 p.m. on Nov. 19.
