| Details: | We have developed Fluorescence Imaging with One Nanometer Accuracy (FIONA) of single dye molecules. The technique was used to understand by which mechanism bipedal motor proteins in cell manage to transport vital cargoes along the linear tracks. We showed that they advance by a similar mechanism to human walking and tension between the two legs of these proteins is essential for their efficiency in energy transduction. |
