| Details: | In this talk I will first review the remarkable correspondence between black holes in anti-de Sitter space and the hot plasma phase of a gauge theory. I will discuss the challenges in studying the singularity at the center of the black hole using this correspondence. I will then outline a strategy for studying this singularity and comment on some recent developments involved in its implementation. |
