International students must provide proof that they've met the University's spoken English proficiency requirement.

We will be accepting applications as long as there are GSI openings.

UCB Campus Wide Teaching Conference for First-time GSIs, begins on the Thursday, before Fall instructions begin and the Friday before Spring 2013 instructions begin. Click here for more information. Pre-registration will be required.

First time GSIs must enroll in a 300 level GSI training course before or concurrently with their first semester of teaching at Berkeley. Physics 300 is only offered in the fall.

First time GSIs teaching physics who cannot enroll in Physics 300 because of time conflicts may enroll in a 300 level GSI training course in a comparable department. Instructor permission mostly likely required. First time GSIs who did not take any 300 level GSI training course in the fall, must enroll in a 300 level GSI training course in another department in the spring in order to continue teaching. First time GSIs who did not complete a 300 level GSI training course during the first two semester of teaching are no longer qualified to teach (per University policy).
