By doing spin dependent electron reflectivity measurement, SPLEEM obtains real time magnetic domain images. The above figure shows that the quantum well states in a Cu thin film grown on ferromagnetic Co are spin polarized and the spin polarization at certain energy or thickness can be reversed relative to the Co magnetization direction. We perform SPLEEM measurement at the National Center of Electron Microscopy (NCEM) of LBNL.
