Sandeep Jauhar: Physicist, Doctor, Writer

Join us on March 20 in Sibley Auditorium as Sandeep Jauhar (BA '89, Ph.D. '95) talks about how his extraordinary path from condensed matter physics to med school to bestselling author started at Berkeley!

Dr. Sandeep Jauhar is a cardiologist and director of the Heart Failure Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After graduating from Berkeley with a Ph.D. in physics, Jauhar went to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. He has written three books: Intern and Doctored are medical memoirs, and his newest, Heart: A History, was named by NPR as one of the best science books of 2018 and was the PBS Newshour's book-of-the month. He writes regularly for The New York Times, and his work has been featured in TIME, The Wall Street Journal and the New England Journal of Medicine.
