It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Kathy Lee is retiring as of June 29, 2020. We are extremely happy and excited for her as she begins this new chapter in her life and we wish her the very best.
Kathy began her professional journey as a part-time student assistant while in college. She worked as a graphic designer after college and spent one year at St. Mary's college before arriving at UCB Physics. She has been in the Physics Department for a little over 20 years. She joined us in March 2000 as Faculty Assistant in the front office. After a few years, she transitioned into our Physics HR Office and finally moved over to our Physics Student Services Unit when Campus Shared Services was implemented.
Kathy is an avid tennis player, is artistic, and always a team player willing to help out at Department events. As an Undergraduate Advisor, Kathy has been simply invaluable. She cares deeply for our students and has always been there to help and guide them. Kathy has helped students, faculty, and staff in many capacities while here and her professionalism and dedication to all us will be sorely missed.
Congratulations to Kathy for all her years of dedicated service. We will miss her very much!
