Directions to Campus
From San Francisco International Airport, one way to get to UC Berkeley is to use the door-to-door-shuttle service, Bayporter Express. When you exit the terminal, follow the sign to door-to-door shuttle. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is another convenient way to get to campus. Take BART to the Downtown Berkeley station, located on Shattuck Avenue between Allston Way and Addison Street. This station is at the western edge of campus, and if you head East (uphill) you will be headed towards the Physics Department.
Public transportation is recommended over driving to campus because parking and traffic can present challenges. That said, there are public and private parking lots along the perimeter of campus. There is no public parking on campus, but hourly parking is available at the Stadium Parking Garage at 2175 Piedmont Avenue (same as 2175 Gayley Road), adjacent to Memorial Stadium. When you leave the garage, cross the street onto campus and head in the direction of the Campanile. Physics North is located directly East of the Campanile Esplanade.
