Berkeley Physics held the 2024 Commencement at Zellerbach Hall on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The following graduating classes were welcomed to celebrate: Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Summer 2024 & Fall 2024. The ceremonies were led by Physics Chair Irfan Siddiqi. Student Speakers were Vibhu Ravindran (undergraduate) and Junwen Xiong (graduate).
This year's principal speaker was Nadya Mason, Dean of the Pritzker Scool of Molecular Engineering (PME) at the University of Chicago. Dr. Mason's research is in condensed matter physics, where she specializes in experimental studies of transport in quantum materials such as atomically thin membranes, topological insulators, and nanostructured superconductors.
