Physics 7A: Physics for Scientists and Engineers
I grew up in Maryland, attended Columbia University as an undergraduate, and U. C. Berkeley as a graduate student in the Physics Department. Here at Berkeley, I have been a physics lecturer for many years, and have continued to be very active in research within theoretical astrophysics.
My research centers on the theory of star formation, a problem I have attacked from many different perspectives. I often collaborate with undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs in both Physics and Astronomy. In 2004, I coauthored the first graduate-level textbook in star formation. I am currently writing a second edition of this book, to be published by Oxford U. Press.
