Dr. Leone received his B.A. in Chemistry at Northwestern University in 1970 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley with Professor C. Bradley Moore in 1974. Mike Crommie received a B.S. degree in physics from UCLA in 1984 and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 1991. He was a postdoc at IBM Almaden for two years before becoming an Assistant Professor in the Physics Dept. at Boston University in 1994. He moved his laboratory to the UC Berkeley Physics Dept. in 6/99 and joined the Berkeley faculty as an Associate Professor. Peter Yu received his B.Sc from the Univ. of Hong Kong in 1967 and the Ph.D. in Physics from Brown in 1972. After doing postdoctoral work at Berkeley between 1971-73, he joined the IBM T. J.
